even though Ollie had an OW scene and his inner monologue about other women annoyed/disappointed me, Ethan and Mia actually had an emotional and physical connection. and that just made the OW drama look like child's play. These are my personal opinions and this rating/review is not a negative reflection of the author or other readers who enjoyed it. This book wasn’t for me, but I hope others are able to enjoy it. my bruna bae convinced me to start the second book immediately🤭bestie told me there’s plot twists that will make me CRAZY?!?!?!?! ok bb, say no more. The rollercoaster of Mia & Ollie’s love is long and twisty, but so far worth the ride. The intricacies and complexities of the people and life they live in general at Dolor is just, psycho, and that’s putting it mildly. these three scenes are so intimate and so memorable😩they gave me an endless amount of butterflies🦋🦋i won’t give too much away…mostly quotes of what he says to her because🥵and some quotes of what she says to him too for some context hehe. the first scene…they’re playing strip or dare with four of their friends. the second scene…ollie is laying down on his bed with mia sitting on top of him on his lap and things happen while their four friends are busy playing a game. the third scene…she thinks that he’s afraid to touch her, but he immediately proves her wrong.

Oliver and Mia's love is one that is so deep, so true, and so vulnerable. They sacrificed so much for each other and encountered terrifying situations, whether it be opening themselves up in ways they haven't before, or putting themselves directly in the line of danger. They truly fought for their happy ending. While I would love to see more from them in the future, as they are one of my top favorite book couples ever, I am also so content and happy with the ending. It felt so perfect and yes, I cried my eyes out for the entire thing.

Ollie "touched" OW, let her give him a bj, watched her "touch" herself for a bit and he even went as far as putting on a condom but he eventually stopped because he went "soft" and deep down his soul was telling him to stop. i knew this was a hard one and it was, but i didn’t expect for me to be this invested. time passed slowly when i was reading this book, it feels like i’ve been here for weeks lmao. the writing here was so good and tbh, i don’t say this often but i really do think this should be adapted into a movie?? i can just imagine the oscars the actors portraying the MCs will be receiving.

the truth was, i could fight, but never wanted to be the one to fight her. i had no idea if i could go through with this, putting my hands on her in ways i never wanted. “yeah, i suppose when i have the right motivation. anyway, are you willing to learn?” Even When I'm Gone, left us hanging off a cliff in a completely different way than it's predecessor, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book to see how everything would play out!i don't know, it just felt like the character development of Mia and the personality of Ollie from book 1 is WAY different and kinda ruined for me because of the tropes i hated here. but hey, others might perceive things differently.
